Frightreads Book Festival is committed to creating a save and welcome space for any and all attendees. People are as unique as the books they read, and that's pretty neat. We believe books (and movies, and music, etc.) are for every person regardless of gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion.

We DO NOT tolerate ANY aggression toward our vendors, attendees or staff. Period.

Those in violation will find themselves removed from the event WITHOUT REFUND. Vendors in violation may be barred from applying in future years.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion. It also prohibits sexually explicit images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassment via photography or recording, sustained disruption of panels or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If you or someone you witness is being harassed by someone, please let Frightreads Staff know. We're always in the bright orange shirts and easy to find.

In the event a situation needs to be escalated, Frightreads staff is more than willing and able to assist in coordinating with local law enforcement, paramedics/medical, or any other solution required.
